Abstract

The article describes an improved methodology for developing primary school pupils' information-handling competence in mathematics lessons. The methodology is based on interpreting information presented as text, images and numbers, on the analytic-synthetic processing of learning information, and on creating simulations of information; it is aligned with the TIMSS international assessment programme.
