This article analyzes the practical and methodological foundations for improving writing competence among senior high school students. The study scientifically substantiates the role and significance of the process-based approach in teaching writing. Based on theoretical analysis and empirical observation, the effectiveness of a step-by-step approach to developing writing competence was identified. The results indicate that planning, revising, and editing stages of the writing process enhance students’ logical thinking, coherence in written expression, and grammatical proficiency. Moreover, this approach fosters students’ independent work and self-regulation skills. Practical and methodological recommendations for improving writing competence are provided.
