This article provides an in-depth analysis of the historical, political, and cultural foundations of the introduction of the Arabic script in Uzbekistan and the subsequent transition from this script to the Latin script. The study describes in detail the reforms implemented in writing at the beginning of the 20th century and their stages, including the role of the Jadid movement, the reformations in calling the population to literacy, and the problems encountered in the process of transition to a new alphabet - the reorganization of the education system, the difficulties of students and even teachers in learning and teaching the new script, the lack of educational materials, and the technical re-adaptation of the information media network. It also analyzes the impact of the change of script on social life, the impact of the difference between the writing of the new generation and the writing of the previous generations on cultural communication, and the possibilities of modernizing the language through the new alphabet. The study reveals the importance of the reform implemented within the framework of writing in Uzbek society and its contribution to the development of the language.
