This article is devoted to the study of the impact of euphemisms on the audience in political communication. The research analyzes how euphemisms, by softening negative or uncomfortable realities in political speech, influence the emotional state of the audience and the perception of political messages. The research material consists of official political speeches addressed to a mass audience in English and Uzbek political discourse. Discourse analysis, linguo-pragmatic analysis, and comparative methods were employed in the course of the study. The findings show that euphemisms serve as an important tool for preventing strong negative reactions among the audience, maintaining social balance, and increasing the persuasive power of political speech. At the same time, it was revealed that excessive or inappropriate use of euphemisms may lead to distrust and latent dissatisfaction among the audience. The article provides a comparative analysis of the impact of euphemisms on audiences in English and Uzbek political discourse.
