This thesis is devoted to analyzing the negative impacts of the growing problem of internet addiction on the process of an individual’s social adaptation, particularly in the context of the phenomenon known as the “Modern Mauglі Syndrome.” In today’s era of rapidly developing digital technologies, a significant portion of the younger generation has become excessively dependent on social networks, online games, and virtual communication tools. This dependence disrupts an individual’s ability to adapt to real social environments, leading to emotional instability, lack of empathy, withdrawal from real social interactions, and psychological isolation. The thesis systematically examines the psychological and cultural roots of the Modern Mauglі Syndrome, its clinical manifestations, the disorders that arise in social adaptation, and the impact of these conditions on the socio-psychological balance of society. It also provides an in-depth analysis, based on psychological theories, of the stages of internet addiction formation, identity disturbances among young people, and adaptation mechanisms at both the individual and group levels. In conclusion, the thesis offers theoretically and practically grounded recommendations for psychological and pedagogical measures, prevention strategies, and rehabilitation approaches aimed at preventing and addressing this problem. This study holds particular scientific and practical relevance for specialists working in the fields of modern psychology, education, and sociology.
