THE TALE OF “YALMOGIZ KAMPIR”: COMPOSITION, CONFLICT, AND THE ANALYSIS OF THE EVIL CHARACTER

This article is based on the Uzbek folk tale “Yalmog‘iz Kampir” and provides an archetypal, poetic, functional, and psychological analysis of the evil character in the story. The study employs Propp’s morphological model and comparative typological methods. The findings indicate that the Yalmog‘iz Kampir functions as a testing force in the hero’s maturation process, shapes dramatic and poetic conflicts, and conveys moral and social values. The article highlights the archaic and stable nature of the system of evil characters in Uzbek magic tales, as well as the psychological and poetic layers of this character.
