THE ATTENTION PAID BY THE SELJUK RULERS TO THE INTELLECTUAL CLASS AND EDUCATION IN THE COUNTRY ANNOTATION

The distinctive feature of the Seljuk rule is that during this period, significant changes took place in Islamic enlightenment and the development of Islamic culture. In this era, numerous reforms were carried out in the field of knowledge and education across the Muslim East. Among these reforms, the establishment of the “Nizamiyya” madrasas by the great vizier Nizam al-Mulk, who made a major contribution to Islamic scholarship, holds special importance. Indeed, the foundation of such madrasas became a driving force for the advancement of various sciences in the Muslim world. In the educational institutions established under the leadership of the Seljuk rulers and their viziers, prominent scholars of the time taught and played an important role in nurturing new generations of learned individuals.
