Abstract

This article analyzes the linguocultural and conceptual characteristics of lexical units related to magic and enchantment found in J.K. Rowling’s “Harry Potter” series. The study examines the semantic distinctions of terms such as “incantation,” “spell,” “charm,” and “curse,” their cultural and psychological significance, and their connection to the English people’s beliefs in magic and sacred traditions. The article illustrates how enchantments manifest through rituals, gestures, magical objects, and the power of will, using examples from the “Harry Potter” series.
