This article examines the derivational features of cosmetology terms used in the Uzbek language. It focuses on morphological and syntactic word formation, the adaptation of borrowed bases, and the terminologization of common lexical items. Particular attention is paid to terms formed with Uzbek derivational elements such as -gich, -uvchi/-vchi, -ish/-sh, -li, -siz, and -lik, alongside hybrid formations based on international lexical components. The study analyzes the structural and semantic properties of namlagich, tozalagich, and oqartirish, as well as multi-word terms such as “teri parvarishi,” “qarishga qarshi vosita,” and “quyoshdan himoyalovchi krem.” It also considers how borrowed terms enter Uzbek as established lexical units and subsequently participate in new morphological or syntactic formations. The findings indicate that the development of Uzbek cosmetology terminology depends on both the language’s internal word-formation resources and the international exchange of scientific and professional vocabulary. The results may support the systematization, standardization, and lexicographic description of cosmetology terms and contribute to greater terminological consistency in professional communication.
