This article examines the practical manifestation of brevity – the art of briefly and concisely expressing thoughts in oral and artistic speech. In particular, the role and significance of this style in linguistics and literary criticism are discussed, and a comparative analysis is conducted. The theoretical foundations, methodological principles, and features of brevity are considered. Our opinion is supported by the fact that brevity has been studied by many scientists, not only in literary criticism, but also in linguistics, and that it is replete with examples. Based on the above, it can be argued that the term "brevity" or "brevity" is widely used not only in literary criticism, but also in linguistics, and can even be the subject of a special study, which was scientifically proven during the survey.
