The gypsy moth (Lymantria dispar L.) is a polyphagous defoliating pest belonging to the family Erebidae of the order Lepidoptera and causes significant damage to many forest and ornamental tree species, including willow. The larvae actively feed on willow leaves, reducing the photosynthetic activity of trees and, under severe infestation, disrupting their growth and development. The conducted studies provided important data on the developmental stages and occurrence level of the pest. These findings are of practical importance for organizing phytosanitary monitoring and implementing control measures against the gypsy moth at optimal timing.
