Abstract

This study examines the reprocessing of waste polystyrene as a secondary polymer raw material and the evaluation of its structural and physico-chemical properties. The influence of sorting, cleaning, and reprocessing stages on material properties was investigated. A comparative analysis of the structural and physico-chemical characteristics of virgin and reprocessed polystyrene samples was conducted. Particular attention was paid to identifying changes in the polymer structure and assessing its suitability for subsequent chemical modification. The research results provide a scientific basis for the functionalization of secondary polystyrene and its use as a raw material for producing new functional polymer materials.
