This study presents a comparative analysis of the relationships between surface passivation, charge carrier recombination, and optical stability in CsPbBr₃/SiO₂ hybrid composites. The analysis compared parameters—such as PL peak position, FWHM, photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY), PL lifetime, and environmental stability—derived from experimental studies on CsPbBr₃ nanocrystals hybridized with SiO₂ shells, mesoporous matrices, and functionalized silica. The results indicate that the influence of SiO₂ is not limited to acting as a physical barrier; it also modifies carrier dynamics by reducing the density of surface trap states and suppressing non-radiative recombination channels. It was observed that nanoconfinement within mesoporous SiO₂ boosts PLQY to 89 ± 10%, while functionalized silica and additional SiO₂ shells can raise it to 90%. The extension of the PL lifetime to ~40.5 ns in certain CsPbBr₃/SiO₂ heterostructures is consistent with the passivation of surface traps. At the same time, the SiO₂ layer may introduce additional resistance to charge carrier transport. Thus, the optimal composition is determined by the balance between luminescence efficiency, stability, and charge transport.
