Abstract

The thesis systematizes key methodological, data, technological and organizational problems of operational risk assessment and management in banks. It focuses on incomplete event identification, data quality, human factors, IT and cyber risks, internal controls, risk culture and interdependencies. An integrated framework based on dynamic key risk indicators, RCSA, loss and near-miss databases, scenario analysis, stress testing and operational resilience is proposed.
