Abstract

This article examines the difficulties faced by Uzbek students studying Korean as a foreign language in distinguishing between subject load (은/는) and possessive load (이/가) based on a comparative-typological analysis. Korean is a topic-prominent language, in which the information structure of a sentence (old/new information, contrast) is expressed through separate grammatical loads. Although the Uzbek language is structurally close to Korean (SOV word order, agglutinative conjugation system), it expresses the difference between subject and object not through a separate grammatical load, but through word order, intonation, and means such as "esa". This functional-typological inconsistency causes a number of interference-based errors in Uzbek language learners. The article classifies the main types of such errors and offers methodological recommendations for their elimination.
