Abstract

This study analyzes the pragmatic features of journalistic discourse in Uzbek media from linguistic and discursive perspectives. The primary aim of the research is to identify the functional characteristics of pragmatic strategies employed in journalistic speech, particularly such devices as lexical manipulation, framing, legitimization, and appeals to authority. In the course of the study, the mechanisms of influence in journalistic discourse were examined based on samples of contemporary media discourse. The findings indicate that journalistic discourse functions not only as a means of information transmission but also as a complex pragmatic system that serves to shape and direct the audience’s cognition.
