This article explores the theoretical and aesthetic foundations of the historical novel genre from a comparative perspective. Drawing on the concepts of scholars such as G. Lukács and H. White in English literary studies, and the works of A. Qodiriy and P. Qodirov in Uzbek literature, the balance between historicity and artistry is analyzed. The article highlights the mechanisms of transforming historical truth into artistic images, the role of figurative devices (synecdoche, irony), and the significance of the concept of "historical distance."
