This research work is dedicated to a fundamental analysis of the role of dream motifs in Uzbek folk oral creativity, specifically in heroic and romantic-epics. The article proves that a dream is not merely a plot element but a vital poetic tool that drives the composition of the work, reveals the hero's psychology, and predicts the chain of future events. During the research, dream scenes in epics such as “Alpomish”, the “Gorogli” series, and “Kuntugmish” were classified from mythological, religious, and social perspectives. As a result, the functional features of the dream motif as a method of transition from epic time to real time were identified.
