This article analyzes the dangerous manifestations of corruption in modern society, their socio-political and economic consequences, and theoretical and practical approaches to classifying corruption into types. It also highlights such forms of corruption as bribery, client-sponsorship, nepotism, and lobbying, and analyzes how bribery works as a means of economic incentive and cost reduction. In addition, it shows that corruption is exacerbated by various levels of authority, control of resources by officials, and informal relations in society, and justifies the need for their systematic identification and analysis
