THE ROLE AND SIGNIFICANCE OF TERMINOLOGICAL DICTIONARIES IN LEXICOGRAPHY

This article highlights one of the key directions of lexicography — the creation of terminological dictionaries. It analyzes the place of terms within the language system, their importance in the development of science and technology, as well as the theoretical and practical foundations of terminological lexicography. The author discusses the essence and meaning of the concept of “term,” its relation to professional vocabulary, and the regularities in the formation of terminological systems. The research results show that terminological dictionaries play an invaluable role not only in the development of the language of science but also in strengthening scientific thinking, national terminology, and state language policy. Through such dictionaries, the scientific potential of the Uzbek language, its position in the international arena, and its cultural independence are further reinforced.
