This thesis examines the linguistic and conceptual features of the concept of “courage,” which is considered one of the important components of the semantic field of “spirituality.” Courage is interpreted not merely as a concept expressing a person’s physical fearlessness, but as a multidimensional concept encompassing moral, spiritual, volitional, and axiological qualities. Its semantic relationships with such spiritual concepts as bravery, fortitude, determination, self-sacrifice, conscience, responsibility, honor, and faith are explored. Particular attention is also paid to the verbalization of the concept of “courage” through linguistic units, fixed expressions, and metaphorical expressions.
